I'm definitely going to try and make it to Roger Hiorn's 'Seizure' installation (commissioned by Artangel), partly because it is not too far from my gaff (151-189 Harper Road, London SE1 6AE), but mainly because it looks pretty cool. Artist Hiorns has filled a soon-to-be demolished council flat with copper sulphate to create this magical crystalline space. The Artangel blurb says: 'For his first work within an urban site Hiorns' makes a radical shift of scale and context, and promises the development of an extraordinary chemical intervention in the heart of the city'. Couldn't have put it better myself.
I like the idea of the normal exterior of a building hiding a secret world, it's all very Labyrinth isn't it? it would make a nice background for a fashion shoot or a hero shot of a car. I hope someone makes use of it before it gets demolished.
