I'm such a dreamer, so I loved this meme from londonelicious, which asks you to take a walk through your perfect Saturday in London. I've got quite into writing restaurant/bar/shop/service reviews for Tipped so I've been thinking about the places I love most in London quite a bit recently. So, this fantasy Saturday. Just to let you know I'm quite minted and can eat loads without getting full or fat. Bear with me.
10:00 I actually like getting up early on the weekend. Unless I'm hungover, I tend to get up at 9 so I can watch my week's TV before Scouse gets up. On my perfect Saturday I would head out to Brixton to Café au Lait to have a Caribbean breakfast. I'd buy a Guiness punch to takeaway, get the paper from next door and then sit in Brockwell Park (it's boiling hot obviously) for a bit enjoying the quiet.
12:00 I'd walk down to the high street because I love nothing more than Brixton in the summertime. All the car stereos and happy people. While in real life I wouldn't be able to eat anything for the rest of the day after one of Café au Lait's breakfasts, I'd grab a tomato and mozzarella pizza from Franco Manca because they are the greatest pizzas in London. Then I'd jump on the 59 up to Embankment because I never get on the tube.
12:45 I'd walk down to the Temple Church because I like it round there and it's a lovely building with loads of history. And if there was something going on at the Somerset House Embankment galleries I'd check in and see what's what.
13:30 Late lunch time. I'd grab the girls and we'd head to Le Caprice for a long boozy lunch. It's not the best restaurant in town, but I love having lunch here because it's so relaxed and unfussy.
15:30 Then we'd stroll over to the Royal Academy and check out the summer show (remember, it's summer). And then I guess I'd want to SHOP! I'd take the girls over to Dover Street Market and buy some Lanvin.
17:30 Then we'd jump in a cab to Liberty, my favourite shop in the whole world, and give my card a workout.
19:00 I'd meet up with the crew for cocktails somewhere. I'd want to go somewhere close so would probably end up at Yauatcha, but I'd be just as happy at Amber on Poland street. The reality is we'd drink until we got thrown out, but I'd like to say that I'd jump in a taxi back to my ends because I hate Saturday nights in central London - too busy and full of people binge drinking.
21:00 I'd have the excuse of having to leave to meet the lovely Scouse at Meson Don Felipe to have some tapas before heading over to The Beehive to have quiet drinks. And then home for white russians or gin and tonics before falling asleep on the sofa.
I'm not going to tag anyone, but it's such a nice meme that I'll be surprised if you don't want to take part.
Love the combo of Brixton and Central London. Liberty is one of my fave places too.

Ok this is awesome, and funny. It seems we both like to wake without a hangover, yet we both end a perfect day pissed (hmmm). Also we both like pizza, but not the same place, maybe an excuse to try each others fav.

I missed this meme. Good choices in your perfect day. Yauatcha rocks.
